Lichen are remarkable symbiotic organisms, composed of fungi and algae, colonize the rough, weathered rocks with their intricate, often colorful patterns. They thrive in the harsh conditions of rock faces, slowly breaking down the stone and contributing to the soil formation process. Their presence on boulders not only enhances the natural beauty of the landscape but also signifies the resilience of life in even the most inhospitable environments.
Why are stones in this art installation? - Because, obviously, they rock!
